dr. Mian N. Riaz
Dr. Mian N. Riaz is Associate Dept. Head and Holder
of the IFANCA’s Professorship in Food Diversity
Food Science and Technology Dept. at Texas A&M
University, USA. He joined the Texas A&M
University 30 years ago after completing his Ph.D. in
Food Science. Dr. Riaz published six books and two of
the books are in the area of Halal Food Production.
His first book titled
“Halal Food Production” is being
used in most of the Universities for Food Science and
Nutrition major students. This book has been
translated into Chinese, Persian and Korean languages.
His second book titled
“Handbook of Halal Food Production”
is published in 2019. He also published 28 chapters in
different books including chapters in the area of
Halal food related issues. Currently, he teaches a
course on “Religious and Ethnic Food” at
Texas A&M University to Food Science and Nutrition
majors. His research focused on processing foods using
different technologies. He has given more than 600
talks in 60 different countries. He also published
several articles on Halal foods processing, domestic
and international Halal market, Halal certification
process for different food industries, Halal
ingredients, new Halal trends, and value of Halal logo
in different food related national and international
magazines and journals.
