Dr. Riadh Soussi initially graduated from the National Engineering School of Tunis, with a specialization in "Industrial Engineering" and then he finished his PHD from the University of Paul Valery France.

Since 1992, he has been working as a consulting engineer in a private consulting firm. In 1994, he joined the Tunisian Institute of Standardization and Industrial Property as a senior research officer, then in 2000, at the Tunisian Ministry of Industry and gradually climbed the administrative ladder.

In 2010, he was promoted to Director at the Ministry of Industry, then DG of the Industrial upgrading program and Chargé de Mission to the Minister of Industry and in 2018 the DG of the Tunisian Institute of Standardization and Industrial Property. His area of specialization includes standardization, certification, industrial strategies, company upgrading, innovation, technology transfer, research and development, patents, trademarks, strategies and policies in the field of standardization and industrial property.

Since May 2022, Dr. Soussi was appointed as the Assistant Secretary General of SMIIC.
