Raafqi Ranasasmita
Raafqi Ranasasmita is the Corporate Secretary Manager at LPPOM MUI (the Assessment Institute for Foods, Drugs and Cosmetics of the Indonesian Council of Ulama), where he leads legal compliance, government affairs, secretarial services, corporate communication, and social media. Since joining LPPOM MUI in 2014, he has built a record of strengthening corporate compliance across the academic, certification, and laboratory-testing sectors.
He holds a Master's in Biomedical Sciences (Biochemistry) from the University of Indonesia, where his research evaluated rat kidney response to hypoxia using qPCR and ELISA, and a Bachelor of Sciences in Biochemistry from IPB University. His professional expertise spans the Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH), HAS 23000, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO/IEC 17065, ISO 31000 and ISO 27000, alongside BNSP-certified credentials as Halal Auditor, Master Trainer (level 4), Halal slaughterperson, and Competency Assessor.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Ranasasmita served as Risk & Compliance Officer at LPPOM MUI (2020–2021), where he built the corporate risk-management framework, Business Impact Analysis and Business Continuity Management, and led the inter-departmental COVID-19 task force. He was previously RND Manager at the LPPOM MUI Halal Laboratory (2018–2020), developing novel and more sensitive PCR, GC and microscopy approaches for detecting non-halal contamination, and has performed halal and food-safety audits worldwide for major F&B companies across five continents since 2014.
He represents Indonesia on the BSN Technical Committee for Biomolecular & Biotechnology Methods and on SMIIC technical committees TC1 (Halal Food), TC8 (Leather & Tanning) and TC16 (Halal Pharmaceuticals), contributing to the adoption of standards such as OIC/SMIIC FDS 22, SNI ISO 20813:2019 and SNI ISO/TS 20224-3:2020. His scientific publications appear in journals including Acta Biochimica Indonesiana, the Indonesian Journal of Halal Research, Rasayan Journal of Chemistry, the Japanese Journal of Infectious Diseases, the Makara Journal of Science and the Medical Journal of Indonesia, covering topics from DNA-based nanoprobe biosensors for pork detection to dengue virus phylogenetics.
His recognitions include Corporate Secretary Champions 2023 (SWA Magazine), the ICSAward 2024 Bronze Medal for Best NGO Initiative, and the Indonesia Halal Industry Award (IHYA) 2024 from the Ministry of Industry of Indonesia. He serves as Journal Editor of Acta Biochimica Indonesiana and as a reviewer for several Indonesian scientific journals, and is a member of the Indonesian Society of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (PBBMI), the Indonesian Corporate Secretary Association (ICSA) and Perhumas.
