Dr. Nurzahidah Binti Haji Jaapar
Dr. Nurzahidah Binti Haji Jaapar is a lecturer at the Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies (Akademi Pengajian Islam Kontemporari, ACIS), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, where she has served since September 2014. Her field of expertise lies in Islamic Studies within the Humanities, with a research focus on the halal industry, Shariah-compliant advertising, Islamic family law and the built environment from an Islamic perspective.
She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Contemporary Islamic Studies from UiTM, a Master of Syariah (by research) from Universiti Malaya, and a Bachelor of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage (Fiqh & Usul al-Fiqh, Honours) together with a Diploma in Shariah Law & Practice from the International Islamic University Malaysia.
Dr. Nurzahidah was the Principal Investigator of the FRGS-funded project Pembinaan Garis Panduan Patuh Syariah Dalam Pengiklanan Berdasarkan Kaedah Fiqhiyyah (2019–2022) and currently leads research on Shariah-compliant digital marketing strategies for micro-entrepreneurs. She has contributed to projects on halal education guidelines, halal supply chain integrity, halal SME development and the empowerment of single mothers and asnaf communities through Shariah-compliant entrepreneurship.
She has published widely in indexed journals on halal brand names, halal fraud, halal certification, online advertising and Maqasid Shariah, and supervises Master's and PhD research on topics including halal supply chain traceability, halal social media influence, fintech-driven mudarabah models for halal SMEs, and halal standard implementation in the food industry.
