Muhammad Abubakar
Muhammad Abubakar is a Board Director, Board Advisor, Systems Architect and Governance Futurist with more than 17 years of executive leadership experience across Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He operates at the intersection of boardroom transformation, strategic foresight and institutional design, helping organisations lead with purpose, resilience and long-term value.
He is a Certified Board Director (PLCs, SOEs, NPOs) and currently serves as Founder and Chairman of Windsor Group, and as a Non-Executive Director for the Bereket Group (Canada and Pakistan), with investments in Food, FMCG and Healthcare. As a trusted Board Advisor, he has guided organisations such as Contech Group in aligning portfolios with international governance and quality standards, supporting high-impact projects funded by USAID, UKHSA, WHO, UNICEF, the World Bank, ADB, UNFPA and UKaid.
In the Halal domain, Mr. Abubakar chairs the National Halal Supply Chain Committee in Pakistan and actively contributes to multiple Standardization Committees under PSQCA (Ministry of Science & Technology), covering Halal food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, conformity assessment, animal welfare, tourism, agri-livestock and supply chain. He is an internationally certified Lead Auditor and Trainer across Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety, Food Safety, Halal, Business Continuity, Information Security, Energy and Risk Management systems, with over 400 man-days of auditing experience across diverse industries.
Previously he served as Group General Manager at Unity Foods, managing over USD 350 million in annual revenues, and held senior roles at IFFCO. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering, a Business Graduate degree from IBA, and numerous certifications in Governance, Risk, ESG, Innovation, Supply Chain and Programme Management. He is affiliated with the GCC Board Directors Institute, Chapter Zero UK, the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance and the Pakistan Engineering Council, and mentors student entrepreneurs across IBA, NED, PU, ICET and Shell Tameer.
