Dr. Muhamad Alfiyan Zubaidi
Dr. Muhamad Alfiyan Zubaidi is the Technical Manager at the Polish Institute of Halal in Poznan, Poland, where he previously served as a Technical Expert from 2020. He completed his PhD in Food Technology and Human Nutrition at the Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences in 2025, following a Master's degree from Poznan University of Life Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology from Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesia.
He works to ensure that products certified by the Polish Institute of Halal meet international Halal standards, and is actively engaged in comparative analysis of Halal standards across jurisdictions. He has participated in international Halal training programmes run by HAK Turkey, JAKIM Malaysia, MUI Indonesia, SFDA Saudi Arabia, EIAC UAE and BPJPH Indonesia, and has been invited as a session lead at the Thailand Halal Assembly. He completed advanced training in UPLC/QToF mass spectrometry with Waters (Warsaw, 2024), Basic Sensory training at Miguel Hernández University, and the Requirements for Bodies Operating Certification of Persons programme with the Emirates International Accreditation Center.
His research applies advanced analytical techniques such as ultra performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) and mass spectrometry (MS) to identify Halal-adulterated products, and to characterise bioactive compounds in food. He has authored peer-reviewed publications in Food Chemistry, Molecules, Foods and Applied Sciences, including the comparative study Halal Standards Around the Globe in the Journal of Halal Quality and Certification, with a Hirsch index of 5 (Scopus) and serves as reviewer for European Food Research and Technology.
