Ismet Kalić holds a Doctorate in Economic Sciences from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Sarajevo, earned in 2012 with a dissertation on "Strategic and Operational Aspects of Cash Flow Management." He also holds a Master’s degree in Economic Sciences from the University of Tuzla, with his thesis focusing on "The Role of Modern Methods and Techniques in the Management of Receivables from Customers," completed in 2003. His undergraduate degree in economics, majoring in finance and accounting, was obtained from the University of Sarajevo in 1991.

Since 2016, he has served as a university professor at the College of Finance and Accounting FINra Tuzla, where he also holds the position of Director. From 2003 to 2004, he was the Executive Director for Economic and Financial Affairs at DD Pekare Ljubače, overseeing financial operations and the creation of financial information systems.
