Elvina Agustin Rahayu, MP
Elvina Agustin Rahayu is a senior Indonesian halal and food safety auditor with more than three decades of experience in halal product certification, halal assurance systems, HACCP and food hygiene. She holds a Bachelor's degree (1993) and a Master's degree (2013) in Food and Nutrition Technology from Bogor Agricultural University, and is a Certified Halal Auditor and Certified Halal Supervisor under the Indonesian Professional Certification Authority and the Halal Product Assurance Division of MUI.
She currently serves as Director of Assessment and Domestic & Foreign Affairs of the Department of Halal Auditing and Halalan Thayyiban Studies of the Control Board of Muhammadiyah (2022–2026), and as Chairwoman of the Association of Indonesian Halal Inspection Agencies (2023–2025 and 2025–2028). She is also a Senior Halal Auditor, Professional Auditor for Food Safety Management Systems (HACCP and ISO 22000:2005), Trainer for Food Hygiene and HACCP Lead Auditor, and Lead Evaluator for the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) award.
Mrs. Rahayu has conducted Halal audits and certifications across Asia, Europe and Australia for major flavour, ingredient and food companies including Givaudan, DSM, Quest International, BASF, Robertet, Takasago and Yakult, in countries such as the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Switzerland, Ireland, China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and New Zealand. She was previously Halal Senior Auditor at the Assessment Institute for Foods, Drugs and Cosmetics of the Indonesian Council of Ulama (LPPOM MUI, 1994–2014), HACCP Lead Auditor at the IPB Integrated Laboratory (2002–2019) and Deputy Head of Certification at the same body (2014–2019).
She has contributed to the national halal reference book Daftar Referensi Bahan-Bahan Yang Memiliki Titik Kritis Halal dan Substitusi Bahan Non Halal (KNEKS, 2020), to the KNEKS national strategic study on halal product research and innovation (2021), to the formulation of SNI 99004:2021 on General Requirements for Halal Food, and to the SMIIC/Islamic Economy Academy publication Contribution of Women in the Global Islamic Economy (2023). She is a member of the Halal Mandatory and Positive List Committee of BPJPH and a participant of the IA-CEPA Course for Women-led MSMEs in the Food Sector.
