Ayten Erol
Associate professor Ayten Erol studied Islamic
Sciences at Ankara University, Turkey and obtained my
Ph.D. degree in Islamic Law with the thesis titled
“Conflicts of Foreign Elements in Islamic
International Private Law” in 2004. The thesis is an
Islamic reflection on the Conflicts of Law, which is
the main subject of Private International Law,
compared to Contemporary Law. She has published two
books titled Comparative Islamic International Private
Law (Turkish publisher) and Social Protection in
Islamic Law (International publisher: Peter Lang
GmbH). She is currently working at the Institute of
Islamic Research and she is the Chair the Department
of Women and Family Studies at the Graduate School of
Social Sciences; both are interdisciplinary institutes
of Social Sciences University of Ankara. In addition
to Islamic law, she has academic and applied research
in the fields of social protection, family, poverty
prevention and halal nutrition and services. She has
new editorials on social protection and halal
nutrition and lifestyles in Islamic Law. She is
actively participated in women and family research and
legislative studies at the Ministerial and
Congressional levels in Turkey and international
organizations.
