Amir Sakić
Amir Sakić is well known as a highly prominent figure
in the development of the Halal industry in Bosnia and
Herzegovina and other Balkan countries, as well as an
active member of all major international initiatives
in the field of Halal standardization and development
of Halal accreditation. For over ten years, he has
participated in the work of the Standards and
Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries – OIC SMIIC,
as a representative of the Institute for
Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is a
participant in numerous prominent international
conferences and symposia and an initiator and
participant in several international initiatives to
establish a global network of Halal certification
organizations and various international initiatives
for the development of Halal standardization,
including the technical committee for Halal of the
European Committee for Standardization - CEN. He was
the first director of the Agency for Halal Quality
Certification from its establishment in early 2006
until mid-2018, when he took over the position of
director of the Media Center of the Islamic Community
in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since the beginning of
2023, he has been in charge of the Training and
Development Center of the Islamic Community in Bosnia
and Herzegovina. Amir Sakic has been professionally
involved in quality management, standardization, and
certification since 2005. He has been educated in the
implementation of various ISO standards. He studied at
the Gazi Husrev-bey's Madrasa in Sarajevo, and
graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Tuzla with
a degree in Bosnian language and literature. He has
ten years of work experience in secondary education,
while also working or collaborating with several
electronic and print media outlets and being active in
youth projects in the non-governmental sector. He is
the author and co-author of numerous scientific and
professional papers on various topics related to Halal
standardization and specific aspects of the
implementation of Halal regulations in the field of
production and services.
